What is Fitness Pilates?
A method of exercise and physical movement designed to improve flexibility, strengthen muscles and balance the mechanics of the body by working on posture, in particular, promoting a healthier back and stronger abdominal muscles. The traditional Pilates exercises are taught in more of a modern and functional way. I teach 3 or 4 different exercises then put them together into a smooth flowing sequence. This enables you to achieve a toned body and improve your fitness potential. Pilates utilises the power of the mind to help with the exercises and to increase harmony between mind and body. I cater for all levels from beginner to intermediate. Base levels, progressions and adaptions are always shown. The music is good and the atmosphere is relaxed.

How Does Pilates Work?
Pilates exercises target the key postural muscles building strength from within creating a girdle of strength around the torso. Jospeh Pilates called this the Powerhouse. The core centre of the body (the lower back and abdomen) are supported and strengthened, enabling the rest of the body to move freely. The principles of Pilates are concentration, breathing, relaxation, body alignment, flow and body awareness. You will defintely feel the benefit. £5.00 per class.
